Are you experiencing poor light output? If you’re like most people who turn to Retrofitlab for help, you own a great car, like an Audi, Mercedes or BMW, with not-so-great headlights. The light output has gone downhill to the point where driving in the dark is no longer enjoyable. Not to say: it’s become outright dangerous. This usually has little to do with the bulbs; in 99% of cases, the poor light output is due to the reflective surfaces inside the projector having been eroded and burned off by UV radiation, heat build-up and pollutants. And when the reflective surfaces no longer reflect, well, then not even the brightest bulb on the planet is going to be of much use.

The options. In this situation, you have two choices:

1. You can go to the car brand dealership, which will only sell you complete headlights. Doing so would guarantee two things: you would pay a lot of money for parts that you don’t need and you would receive a projector of the very same type that landed you in this pickle in the first place (the infamous Hella E55).
2. You can keep your headlight and the vast majority of your money and simply swap the faulty part: the projector. Doing so is easy; with many headlights, all you have to do is turn some nuts at the rear of the assembly. Also, apart from saving a bucket-load of money, you will enjoy light output that is literally streets ahead of what you’re used to. The Aharon EvoX-R 2.0 is in fact nearly seven (7) times more powerful than the old Hella E55!

Effortless retrofit
Based on years of R&D, the EvoX-R 2.0 was designed for super-easy replacement of Hella E55. Once the headlight is open, you can place and connect it in minutes, without the need for any special tools.

AFS-compatible with mods
The EvoX-R 2.0 is compatible with AFS (cornering function) headlights but requires some modifications to the mounting points. Novice retrofitters of AFS headlights are recommended to instead purchase the original EvoX-R 1.0, which is a perfect match to AFS headlights straight out of the box (the 1.0 can only hold D2S bulbs).

Optional D2S extension cables
In case you’re going for a D2S setup, you can avoid having to tinker with a DIY solution by adding a pair of D2S extension cables to your order. These cables make for absolutely effortless wiring. Plug and play.
